About Dr Matt Auld

Quiet, considered writing for the inner life

I write about contemplative formation—how awareness reshapes identity, conflict, faith, and daily practice. No noise. No urgency. Just steady attention to what is real.

A little of the story

My work sits at the intersection of contemplative spirituality and everyday life. I’m interested in the slow work of formation—how people change over time, how faith develops, and how we learn to live with honesty during seasons of transition.

Formation

Awareness as a practice of love

Contemplative practice is not an escape from life; it is a way of meeting life. I write for readers who want spiritual depth without performance—practices that make room for grief, doubt, joy, and the ordinary textures of a day.

Approach

Writing that makes room for complexity

I’m drawn to the places where easy answers fail: faith transition, conflict, identity, and the quiet work of becoming. My aim is to offer language that helps readers stay present—without rushing to resolve what needs time.

Much of my work is shaped by contemplative traditions and the lived experience of change. I write for spiritual seekers, Christians exploring contemplative practice, and leaders who want formation resources that are both grounded and gentle.

If awareness is a kind of attention, then attention is a kind of prayer.
